Halifax & Area Main Electricity Service

Nova Scotia Power Corp - Nova Scotia's electricity is currently regulated so there is only one electricity company. To ensure adequate time for disconnection or hook-up call at least 2 weeks prior to possession day.

Solar Power

Internet, Cable, & Phone Services

There are several providers to choose from with the Halifax area. They provide telephone & high speed internet, as well as security & television. Most offer better pricing for bundled services. Please make arrangements at least two weeks prior to move in day.

Halifax & Area Main Water Service

Halifax's water service is currently regulated so there is one main water company. They bill for water, sewer & trash pick up. The HRM has an extensive recycling program which includes cardboard, plastics, wood, electronics, organics and more. Please contact them a minimum or two working days before connection is required. They may require you to sign contract and pay a service fee. Also download the Hfx Recycles App on IOS or Android. It will remind you have pickup details and if you ever wonder what can or cannot be recycled, the search option will tell you.

Postal Service

Most properties within the Halifax area receive mail delivery through the postal box system. Contact Canada Post to arrange lock replacement and new keys. They will require a form to be completed but, once completed, they generally have the order completed within two days.
